An intermittent vibrating, rumbling, ticking, or humming sound may be heard coming from the refrigerator. The sound may become significantly louder or quieter when pressing against the evaporator fan shroud.
Possible Cause
- The evaporator fan wire harness transferring fan motor vibrations to the rear wall of the freezer cabinet

Possible Solution
- Install isolation pad part number WR01L13429 between the evaporator fan motor and the rear wall of the freezer cabinet

Follow the steps below to apply a foam pad with attached aluminum strip onto the rear wall of the freezer. This will absorb the vibration of the wiring harness caused by the evaporator fan motor.
- Disconnect power
- Remove contents and shelves from the freezer compartment
- Remove evaporator fan motor assembly
- Measure up from the evaporator fan Molex plug 1 3/4-in to locate the placement of the top of the foam pad
- Measure right from the evaporator fan Molex plug (as shown below) 1 1/8-in to locate the placement of the left side of the foam pad
- Remove adhesive cover and place foam pad onto the rear wall
- Reinstall evaporator fan motor assembly and remove the fan blade to ensure wires are seated against foam pad
- Reinstall the fan blade
- Restore power and test operation
